LeBron James has once again been personally offended by the monsters at ESPN. They joined the ranks of those cowards at NBA2K who wronged him only yesterday. Honestly, when can The King catch a break?
This week in “The Lakers Lounge,” Harrison and I rank the motivating factors behind James’ season as he embarks arguably the most important campaign he’s had to this point in his time as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Everything from what this season will mean to him as a pseudo general manager, to chasing Michael Jordan, and personally making me look like (even more of) a buffoon is covered, with a couple surprises along the way.
We also discussed how unoriginal all this feels, as this exercise can be traced back more than a decade to when ESPN’s NBA Rank was created in large part to piss of Lakers fans with their thoughts on Kobe Bryant near the end of his career.
I joke, but honestly, this does feel like the first season where, heading in, there is legitimate doubt about where LeBron ranks among his peers, even if we all acknowledge it’s among the absolute elite. We’re all rooting you on, Washed King.
Finally, to wrap up the show, Harrison and I discussed the Star Wars and Marvel extended universes, and how both entities have fared in expanding their stories to the TV screen.
