Although the Lakers already fleshed out most of their roster and made their big splash of the offseason when acquiring Russell Westbrook, the back-end of the bench is still noticeably missing bodies.

On Tuesday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported the team was looking to add more depth to their squad ahead of the season, specifically securing another point guard. Haynes also shared the Lakers have already held workouts for Isaiah Thomas, Darren Collison and Mike James. It is worth noting this is the second report tying Thomas to the team in the past few weeks.

But the Lakers already have a pretty crowded backcourt, with several players who will all be vying for minutes behind Russell Westbrook. If another lead guard is added, where would the minutes come from, and would whoever is added be okay with a marginalized role?

While it’s important to take every report with a grain of salt when still navigating the waters of free agency, this news did offer interesting insights into what the team is looking to prioritize with their final roster spots, as well as what it means for a player like Jared Dudley. All of which brings us to today’s episode.

On this week’s edition of “Talk-O Tuesday,” our hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla discussed Haynes’ report, what the potential loss of Dudley would mean, and what they think of the released schedule so far.
