Obviously, the headline is hyperbolic. He's not even worth a stale bag of fritos. With that out of the way, let's be serious. Kuzma isn't remotely worth the $13 million dollars he's getting next season. Or the $13 million the season after that. Or even the $13 million the season after after that. (That last year is a player option. If you think he's not opting into it, i've got a $13 million bridge with Bird rights to trade you for a 2nd rd pick that will never convey.)
But here's the rub. Who can we
dump trade Kuzma to? The Knicks might actually be competent now? The Kings wouldn't answer the door, knowing it's just another flaming bag of crap. The Magic would be a prime candidate, but Kuzma already publicly bashed them when he said, "I'd rather be talked about bad in L.A. than play in Orlando and not get talked about." Well at least hes okay with the former, because I've got more to say.
How in the hell has this man regressed so much on offense? He showed so much promise as a rookie. I actually believed some of the hype back then. However, it's now clear that his rookie year was an absolute fluke. What happened to his floater? His scoring in the paint looked so smooth. Now his offensive game is rougher than getting a handy with sandpaper.
To be fair, I will say that he has actually improved significantly on defense. He was ahead of his time in social distancing those first few seasons. But he no longer looks lost on D and can be a plus guarding multiple positions. So he's not a complete train wreck. There's something to work with. Just not here. Does anyone have the number for the Shanghai Sharks?
