Despite a good win against Denver Monday, the Lakers haven’t exactly demonstrated a strong interest in showing up during this regular season. On the latest episode of “I Love Basketball”, your hosts Anthony Irwin and Sabreena Merchant discuss how the team is showing a disregard for the process, despite the fact that being disciplined during the regular season was a key part of the team’s success last year.
Some of that comes down to the players themselves with the championship hangover and the shortened season, but Anthony and Sabreena also have some questions for Frank Vogel’s role in all of this.
Anthony and Sabreena also get into the latest news regarding LeBron James, and what to make of his brief return. They talk about how the Lakers can shift their rotations to compensate for James’ absence and how to address the point guard situation when Dennis Schröder returns from health and safety protocols.
Finally, in the interest of not being complete downers, the two of them conclude with some positive elements they saw against Denver that they hope continue for the Lakers as they look to make good on Anthony Davis’ promise that they are indeed back.
