Listeners have waited. Maybe not patiently, but they’ve waited. Also, that’s a good problem to have. But your patience has been rewarded,, as today, we got to debut two brand new shows on the Silver Screen & Roll podcast feed: “The Anthony Irwin Show” and “Lakers Lowdown.”
To start things off, I welcomed Jorge Sedano to discuss this season and got into how excited everyone at ESPN is for this monster of a match up Wednesday between the Lakers and Warriors. Were executives crying in the hallway? You’ll have to listen to find out.
Sedano and I also got into this season and why these playoffs are so fascinating. While there are obviously teams that have more talent than others (the Lakers being one of them), there isn’t a team out there whose fans have zero doubt about how things might go. In a league often dominated by predictable champions, this is a very welcome change.
After that conversation, I also welcomed Sam Esfandiari of “The Lightyears Podcast” to get you ready for this Lakers-Warriors matchup on Wednesday. How confident should Warriors fans be? How nervous should Lakers fans be? How weird is it going to be to see LeBron James as the heavy favorite against a Stephen Curry Warriors team? All that and a ton more in another really fun conversation.
The second show we launched is called “Lakers Lowdown," and will air every weekday morning. Normally, it would serve to let you know everything you need to regarding your Lakers, but today is more devoted to letting you know what to expect from this show and the rest of the Silver Screen podcast feed.
I want to thank everyone involved for all the work that has gone into these shows and everything else we’re doing with this podcast feed. This is all incredibly exciting, and we’re just getting started.
You can listen to the full episodes in the player embedded below, and to make sure you never miss a show moving forward, subscribe to the Silver Screen and Roll podcast feed on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher or Google Podcasts.
