Whether it’s a result of Andre Drummond taking his spot in the startling lineup or simply him getting his wind back under him after testing positive for COVID-19, Marc Gasol is playing some of his basketball of the season for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Over the last three games, Gasol has averaged 9.7 points, 7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.7 blocks per game while posting the third-highest defensive rating on the team. Only Alex Caruso and Wesley Matthews have posted higher defensive ratings than Gasol over the last three games.

Unfortunately for Gasol, his recent stretch of games won’t have an affect on his role with the team. When Andre Drummond returns to the lineup on Thursday, Gasol will move back to the bench, and while Frank Vogel has insisted that he plans to play Drummond, Gasol and Montrezl Harrell, the logistics make that hard to believe.

On today’s episode of ‘“I Love Basketball,” Sabreena and Christian discuss impending Drummond’s return, what it could mean for Gasol and how Vogel can maximize the talents of all three of his centers. They also talk about the other players that could lose out one minutes once LeBron James and Anthony Davis return to the lineup.
