From taking place in Tampa Bay, Florida, to the Lakers splashing 18 threes and OG Anunoby’s audition for the WWE, Tuesday’s contest between the Lakers and Raptors was anything but normal (a running theme for the 2020-21 season).

Already shorthanded with the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond out, the rest of the Lakers stepped up in a big way. Seven players ended the night in double figures, two others scored at least 8 points, and L.A. would even double up the Raptors in points in the second quarter.

The win was a largely positive way to kick off the team’s upcoming difficult slate of games, and highlights what has to be seen as a successful stretch from the group during James and Davis’ absence. Which brings us to this week’s edition of “Talk-O Tuesday” — a podcast by Silver Screen and Roll — in which our hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla recapped the Lakers impressive win over the Raptors, discussed their encouraging ability to tread water and previewed the difficult games ahead.

The duo also discussed the signing of Ben McLemore, and consider whether the team’s new additions potentially could light a spark under a few players.
