Dennis Schröder and Mookie Betts star in new Call of Duty ad

Some of the best, funniest and most endearing moments of Dennis Schröder’s time with the Lakers have come while he was playing Call of Duty. Take just last week, when Schröder completely (and completely relatably) lost it when his game crashed mid-session:

Anyone who has played video games has had a moment like that. There was also the less relatable (but still very funny) time that LeBron James called Anthony Davis while he was streaming with Schröder:

So fittingly, given how many memorable Call of Duty moments Schröder has had with the Lakers, he — and Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts — are both featured in the absolutely star-studded latest ad for the game.

If that concept seems familiar, it might be reminding you of the time another Lakers guard who once was featured in a Call of Duty ad:

So yeah, despite turning down multiple extension offers from the Lakers this season, it would appear that Schröder is very much enjoying the extra publicity, prestige and endorsements that come with being the team’s starting point guard. And with all due respect, he’s likely not getting a spot in this ad if he’s playing in Oklahoma City. Being in Los Angeles is just different, something Betts is surely discovering as well.

Will opportunities like this lead to Schröder signing on the dotted line to remain in Los Angeles this summer? Only time will tell on that front, but as long as he’s here, he might as well work to make a real-life team-up with Betts to bring Los Angeles back-to-back titles in two sports a reality.

If Schröder can help make that meme come to life this summer, it’s a safe bet that he and the Lakers will be able to work something out.
