When it was first announced that LeBron James and Anthony Davis would miss significant time due to respective injuries, the “other” Lakers were not given much of a chance to keep the ship afloat.
But 13 games later, two new players added — and with several others flying in out of the injury report — the group has not only kept the ship heading in the right direction, but just capped off their seven-game road trip with a winning record, the latter a feat that at one point seemed unfathomable given the context involved. But with a clutch three by Alex Caruso in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night, that is exactly what has transpired.
Next stop for the Lakers is Staples Center, and awaiting the them is fans and momentum, which brings us to today’s episode of “Talk-O Tuesday,” a podcast by Silver Screen and Roll. On our latest postgame episode, hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla recapped the Lakers’ win over the Hornets, their impressive stretch of games without James and Davis, and what potential boost could come from playing in front of fans once again. Then, the duo discussed the front court rotation of Marc Gasol, Andre Drummond and Montrezl Harrell, as well as the optimal return schedule for James and Davis ahead of the playoffs.
Finally, before wrapping up the show, Alex and Alex gave their predictions for this next stretch of games.
