The NBA trade deadline is tomorrow, and unlike last year, there is plenty of noise surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers and their pursuit of high-profile players. For that reason, Anthony and Jas kicked off today’s episode of “The 30” off by previewing the trade deadline, starting with arguably the biggest name in the rumor mill, Kyle Lowry.
With the latest reporting that the Lakers are kicking tires on Toronto Raptors point guard, the guys discussed if the Lakers have enough assets to get a deal done. Because Lowry is under contract for $30.5 million this season, the Lakers would likely have to give up the likes of Dennis Schroder, Montrzel Harrell or Kentativous Caldwell-Pope to acquire Lowry. Is that worth it?
Following that, they talk about how the Lakers have looked without the injured LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and how they think the Lakers will do over the next few weeks without their superstars. They then go over the schedule and predict where the Lakers will be in the Western Conference standings by the time LeBron and Davis return.
Finally, to wrap things up, the guys gave their thoughts on if Rob Pelinka will make a move before Thursday’s 12:00 p.m. PT trade deadline.
