It was likely some time around the point when the Lakers were losing to the Pelicans by 30 that reality set in for fans of the team. LeBron James will be out for the foreseeable future, Anthony Davis’ status moving forward is murky and Marc Gasol continues to still be out.

Reality is often cruel, but this reality is something the team and front office must adjust to accordingly. There will likely be games in the meantime where the talent discrepancy will simply be too overwhelming, and that’s okay. But the Lakers’ effort needs to be consistent if this current crop has any chance in keeping this team’s seeding afloat. One has to also wonder how the winds of change of the trade deadline and buyout market also will impact the team in the upcoming days. Which brings us to today’s episode.

On this week’s edition of “Talk-O Tuesday,” our hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla recapped the Lakers’ deflating loss to the Pelicans and discussed what this group has to do in order to eke out wins in the weeks ahead.

The duo then spent the rest of the episode previewing Thursday’s NBA trade deadline and buyout market before handing out predictions of who stays, who goes, and who is coming in.
