On Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers announced that Jared Dudley suffered a right MCL tear. Dudley missed Friday’s game with a right knee contusion, but further testing revealed an MCL tear.
Dudley hasn’t been ruled out for the season, but if is a full tear of the MCL, he will be like DeMarcus Cousins was last year. However, unlike Cousins, there’s a good chance that Cousins finishes the season with the Lakers, and Christian and Jacob explain why on today’s episode of “Can U Dig It?”
But first, Jacob fills Christian in on everything he missed during his vacation time, including the Lakers’ win over the Indiana Pacers on Friday, in which Kyle Kuzma recorded a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double, and Alex Caruso suffered a concussion.
They then talk about the Lakers’ increasingly worrisome injury report, which is still headlined by Anthony Davis. On Friday, the Lakers announced that Davis, who’s missed the last 10 games with a calf strain and Achilles tendinosis, will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
When Davis returns, the Lakers will have the rim-running, shot-blocking big man they’ve been missing for most of the season, but reports suggest they’ll still use one of their final two roster spots to sign another athletic big man. Christian and Jacob explain why that might be more of a luxury than a necessity for the reigning champions.
