The old sports adage “a win is a win” is not just another cliche for the Lakers, but something they have to embrace during what has been a mixed start to the year. Aspects like continually mounting injuries, the growing pains that come with a new roster and clunky lineups have also been compounded by continuous self-inflicted wounds, pains which have turned every game into a war.
Although the team is fresh off an overtime win over a spunky Hornets squad, the outcome was once again never certain, and it was a game that on on multiple occasions felt like it was ripe for yet another deflating result.
The team will most likely look different — and more importantly, better — with healthy bodies and more time together to build cohesion. However, how much will ultimately be fixed once the external factors are no longer viable excuses is still to be determined. Which brings us to today’s episode.
On this week’s edition of Talk-O-Tuesday — a podcast by Silver Screen and Roll — our hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla discussed the team’s recent win, and then shared their general concern levels with the squad after 11 games.
Finally, they wrapped things up with game predictions for the next week, and a discussion of how much can (and cannot) be improved upon in-house as the season progresses.
