NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

When the Los Angeles Lakers played the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, they let the Grizzlies go on a 20-0 run in the first quarter and they trailed by as much as 12 points during that run. Despite that, they were able to escape with a win and improve their record to 5-2 because of their depth, and their star’s ability to take over in the fourth quarter. They’re so good, and they’re only just scratching the surface.

On today’s episode of “Can U Dig It?” Christian and Jacob discuss the areas that the Lakers have impressed in so far and the areas they can still improve in. Through seven games, the Lakers are ranked third in offensive rating (115.7), sixth in defensive rating (104.5) and second in net rating (11.2).

They also recapped the Lakers’ win over the Grizzlies on Sunday. LeBron James is the one who carried them through to the finish line, but the bench played a big role in keeping them in the game — particularly Montrezl Harrell, who contributed 16 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. Wesley Matthews also finished the game in double figures, scoring 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc. They’re deep, alright.
