Did you start watching Cade Cunningham highlights after watching your Los Angeles Lakers lose to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night? Don’t worry: I can assure you you’re not alone. Far from it.

Emotions were running high on social media after the Lakers’ first consecutive losses of the season, and justifiably so — this was a game the Lakers should have won. However, with some context, their recent struggles make sense, even if they still aren’t very fun to watch.

On today’s Silver Screen and Roll postgame show, our hosts Jas and Christian broke down what went wrong in the Lakers’ 107-92 loss to the Pistons on Thursday. They then went over some of the themes they’ve seen with the team this season, and whether or not they’re legitimate causes for concern (Spoiler alert: They don’t really think so. At least not yet).

For example, does this year’s Lakers team not fit as well as last year’s team fit together, or were fans just spoiled with the immediate success of last year’s team? And if there are changes that need to be made to the roster, can they be made internally, or do the Lakers need to be aggressive when the trade deadline rolls around in two months?

After discussing all of that, Jas and Christian went over how the rest of the NBA has looked through the first quarter of the season, and whether or not there are any teams head and shoulders above the Lakers in the early going.
