The Los Angeles Lakers dominated on Sunday in Houston to start a two-game mini-series with the Rockets, winning 120-102. Anthony Davis was perfect from the field through his first nine field goal attempts and shot a season-high 10 free throws while Talen Horton-Tucker and Montrezl Harrell combined for 33 points off the bench.
With the performance in the books, our hosts Anthony Irwin and Jacob Rude recap the game, including one of the plays of the season between Alex Caruso and Horton-Tucker. They discuss Davis’ big night, Harrell’s fourth quarter in which he scored 12 points and the partnership of Caruso and Horton-Tucker and what has made them effective.
The pair also look at the bigger takeaways from the game, including discussing if the team is turning the corner following Davis calling out the team’s defense in a loss to the Spurs last week. They discuss how the team’s defense has evolved this season, the depth the Lakers team has that few other before them have possessed and also look at the upcoming schedule to discuss if this could be the start of a defining run for the Lakers.
