Anthony Davis had a quiet first half for the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.
Through 19:14 in the first half, Davis scored just 9 points on 3-10 shooting from the field. In the previous game, Davis had 14 points in the first quarter alone.
Davis’ slow start to the game inspired Charles Barley to go on a rant about Davis’ mentality during TNT’s halftime show:
“Anthony Davis should be the best player in the world. But like, he doesn’t have that killer mentality. Everybody’s not built like that ... there’s a skillset and a mindset. Anthony Davis is just a nice guy who’s a great player.”
In the second half, Davis scored 22 points, including the game-winning 3-point shot that gave the Lakers a 105-103 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, and a 2-0 lead in the series.

To paraphrase David Fizdale: take that for data, Chuckster.
On today’s episode of the Silver Screen & Roll postgame show, Christian and Sabreena broke down Davis’ incredible game-winner, the moments leading up to the shot and LeBron James’ monster first half. However, they also spend some time talking about the mistakes that led to the Nuggets going on a run in the second half, and how L.A. can clean them up.
