The Lakers are the biggest and brightest show in the basketball. A lot of that has to do with the the team’s history of winning championships, but it also a lot to do with the fact that they’re located in Los Angeles, the city of stars.
Because of their location, you’ll often see celebrities on the sidelines. Famous people like Jack Nicholson, arguably the most famous Lakers fan of all time, and Flea, the homegrown bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, not even the most famous Lakers fans have been able to make the trip to Staples Center to watch their team play.
That doesn’t mean they can’t still join enjoy the communal experience of watching a game at Staples Center, though — just ask Ashley Frangipane, more commonly known by her stage name Halsey.
Even before stadiums were closed off to fans, Halsey, a New Jersey native, regularly tweeted about the Lakers from her personal account, @Halsey. This is my personal favorite:
Ok zubac

However, her Lakers tweets confused her followers that weren’t as into basketball as she clearly is. In an effort to rectify that, Halsey made a basketball Twitter account: @halseyandone.
Since then, she’s been fully submerged herself in the Lakers Twitter experience by live-tweeting games and going after fans of opposing basketball teams that doubted the Lakers, the latter of which is a tradition as old as time.

During a time where it seems like there are few things that are wholesome and good, Halsey’s basketball account has been a joy to follow. Let’s just hope the Lakers don’t upset her on her birthday, which is on Nov. 29, the day after a potential Game 6 would be played between the Lakers and whoever wins between the LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets.
my 26th birthday is 9/29 aka the week of the WCF I’m gonna explode into tiny particles of joy this is living

The Lakers (3-0) are undefeated since Halsey made her new account, so we like their chances of giving her a nice birthday gift.
