Rajon Rondo has easily been the biggest surprise of the Lakers’ offseason so far. After posting one of the worst point differentials on the team in the regular season (-5.6), Rondo has posted the best point differential in the Lakers’ last two games (+53), both of which were crucial wins in a tightly-contested playoff series with the Houston Rockets.
However, Rondo hasn’t been the only surprise of the Lakers’ playoff run — far from it. So, on today’s episode of “Can U Dig It?”, Christian and Jacob broke down what they believe have been the biggest surprises from the postseason so far, from Kyle Kuzma’s development on both ends of the floor to Anthony Davis’ struggles from the charity stripe.
They also talk about why they believe Rondo has been so successful in the playoffs. Is he doing anything drastically from what he was doing in the regular season? Has Frank Vogel figured out how to use him and, most importantly, who to play him with after watching film during the hiatus? Is he really just that much better in the playoffs than he is in the regular season? The answer appears to be a mix of all of those things.
