It’s been four long months, but we made it: the Los Angeles Lakers will play a semi-meaningful basketball game against the LA Clippers on Thursday, and the result of the game will count against their regular season record. What a concept!
Typically, on the eve of opening night (or in this case, re-opening night), we’d have a preview show for you, but Alex and Alex of “Talk O’Tuesday” covered that for us on Tuesday’s show. It’s for that reason Christian and Jacob devoted this week’s episode of “Can U Dig It?” to questions from around the NBA that they want to see answered over the next couple of months.
Who will be the team to clinch the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference? Is there a team capable of pulling off an upset in the first round of the playoffs? Is there any team that’s better than their regular season record suggests? They discuss that and more.
Before they get into hoops talk, though, they briefly talk about the Joe Kelly experience against the Houston Astros (boo) on Tuesday. Christian’s a Dodgers fan and Jacob’s a Reds fan, but the put their differences aside to collectively shame the Astros, because apparently the MLB can’t do it themselves.
They then talk about what they enjoyed from the Lakers’ scrimmage games, including the pairing of Alex Caruso and Dion Waiters.
