While nothing is technically a given until we see a basketball finally get tipped again, the NBA and its players have circled July 31 as the day the sport will resume once again. With new information still being announced daily, today’s podcast is an aim to make sense of it all as it pertains to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Over the past week, multiple statements and reports have outlined what the tentative plan will be for the remainder of the resumed 2019-20 NBA season, as well as the playoffs and the safety precautions that will be put into place. On this week’s edition of “Talk-O-Tuesday” — a podcast by Silver Screen and Roll — our hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla discuss what basketball’s return means for the team from a variety of angles.

First, Alex and Alex touched on what scenarios the play-in-system can create in terms of who the Lakers will take on in the first round of the playoffs, before analyzing what potential benefits and disadvantages could arise for a veteran-heavy squad like L.A. within this type of quickly restarted setting. Also discussed on the show is the latest news on NBA roster regulations and plenty more Disney World “bubble” talk.
