It’s been 42 days since the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Brooklyn Nets at Staples Center. In a normal, 82-game regular season, that game wouldn’t hold any significance, but this season has been everything but normal.
Since then, the Lakers haven’t stepped on a basketball court, and there’s no telling when they will again — or which season it will be when they do. It should go without saying, but there are a lot of questions that still need to be answered.
In today’s episode of “Lakers, Explained,” Harrison and Christian answered some of your questions, from how we think players did during the season to what we think will happen with Anthony Davis in free agency. It was widely assumed that Davis was going to decline his $28.7 million player option for the 2020-21 season, but with the salary cap expected to fall once again, it might actually be in his best interest to pick it up as opposed to signing a short-term deal in free agency.
They end the show by trying to pressure Harrison’s fiancee, Mia, to name their future child “Kobe Wade,” after the nickname Dion Waiters gave himself in college. At least it’s better than the other nickname Waiters has: “TP.”
