On Monday morning, Staples Center — in conjunction with the city of Los Angeles and Vanessa Bryant — hosted a celebration of life for Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, both of whom were among the nine people killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas on Jan. 26.

In today’s show, Harrison and Christian recap the memorial, which featured speeches from Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Diana Taurasi and, remarkably, Bryant’s widow Vanessa. Kobe and Vanessa were married for just under 20 years, and they had Gianna — their second-oldest daughter — in 2006.

Then, Harrison and Christian had the pleasure of talking to Mirin Fader of Bleacher Report, who reported and compiled a wonderful story with tons of anecdotes about Gianna, from the time she was two years old to her final days as a 13-year-old. It’s a both heartwarming and heartbreaking read.

Lastly, the guys preview the Lakers’ matchup with Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Not only will it be their first time seeing the Pelicans with Zion Williamson, but it could be Markieff Morris’ first game in a Lakers uniform. Plus, the fact that the Pelicans are only 3.5 games back of the eighth seed in the Western Conference make the game that much more interesting.
