While we are still only a few days into the NBA offseason and there is plenty of time for things to change between now and the start of the season on Dec. 22, one thing will stay true no matter what happens: Rob Pelinka and the Los Angeles Lakers took aim and pounced on some of the best available players this offseason.
After saying that team wants to avoid complacency earlier this month, the Lakers’ general manager instead chose to be proactive and completely overhauled a championship roster into something younger, more talented and dare we say, better. The flurry of moves has undoubtedly excited the team’s fanbase ahead of the new season, which bears the question — which move was the best?
On this week’s edition of “Talk-O Tuesday” — a podcast by Silver Screen and Roll — our hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla discussed which singing they each thought was the best one, and how the roster compares to the one that just won the title for the Lakers. The Alex’s also recapped the wild first few days of free-agency and predicted what moves the Lakers might make next as they continue to fill out the rest of their roster.
The Lakers’ roster stands at 14 players, not including Anthony Davis, who hasn’t signed a new contract with the team yet. They can go into training camp with as many as 20 players, but they need to trim the roster down to 15 players by opening night.
