It’s fitting that on a night in which the Los Angeles Lakers inched a game closer to the championship, their victory was the result of the precise formula that got them to this point. Their stars were reliable, and dominant in their own ways. They received timely contributions from their role players when they needed it the most. And their defense, which has been the team’s backbone all season, buckled in. It all allowed them to come away with a 102-96 win and 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.
In a year filled with heartache, the Lakers are now just a win away from bringing some necessary brightness back to the city. On this week’s edition of “Talk-O Tuesday” — a podcast by Silver Screen and Roll — our hosts Alex Padilla and Alex Regla spend the majority of the show recapping the team’s win, the key adjustments Frank Vogel and his staff made in the second half, and what they will be keeping an eye on for in the potential clincher.
The Alex’s also give what possibly are their final predictions of the season with their guesses at Finals MVP, and if there even will be a game six.
