With Lakers training camp underway, our podcast hosts are thrilled to be able to talk actual basketball developments. Well, we thought we were until the bevy of “Rajon Rondo is standing out in practice” reports started coming. Still, there’s plenty to be excited about — now and in the years to come.
The 30
In this episode, Jas is joined by Sportsnet 650 reporter and anchor, Marcus Fitzgerald. With the Lakers kicking off training camp, the guys discussed head coach Frank Vogel preaching patience, especially early in the season.
Following that, they get into Kyle Kuzma’s injury and how it impacts the team. Marcus and Jas share their thoughts on how important it is for the team to get off to a fast start to take advantage of a soft schedule and how they can mitigate Kuzma’s loss.
They then give their predictions for how things will play out in both the eastern and western conferences and where the Lakers fit into the playoff picture.
To wrap things up, Marcus and Jas talk about Alex Caruso and what expectations are for him this year, plus how the lineup combinations will be set up by Vogel.

Locked on Lakers
In today’s mailbag, listeners seemed to be really interested in how the Lakers match up against the league’s best teams. Is there a player type that has us most nervous? With Davis seemingly being okay with playing center, what does that do to open up the Lakers’ best lineups?
Then, with an eye toward the future, a listener wanted to know who we think the Lakers have the best chance at landing in the summer of 2021, when guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George Bradley Beal and others will be free agents.
