Thanks to a couple thinly-veiled shots across the Los Angeles Lakers’ bow by members of the Clippers organization, talks of a rivalry finally kind of heated up. Our hosts discussed that, and whether Danny Green can somehow improve on the spectacular season he had from behind the arc a year ago.
Can You Dig It?
Outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Danny Green is probably the most important player for the Lakers and he has the potential to be the best he’s ever been this season. Jacob and Christian break down why on this week’s episode of “Can You Dig It?”

Locked on Lakers
On today’s episode, I welcomed Jovan Buha of The Athletic on to discuss the scene at Kawhi Leonard and Paul George’s Clippers introductions. Steve Ballmer stole the show with his typical weirdness, but I make the case that he’s actually the biggest threat to the Lakers’ stranglehold over the city the Clippers have ever had. Jovan agreed.
From there, we discussed some of the details from behind the scenes of Leonard’s decision. How close were the Lakers as runners-up to the Clippers? The Lakers felt like they got played, so where might that sentiment come from? Interestingly enough, according to Jovan, the Clippers were still more worried about the Raptors than they were about the Lakers.
Finally, we discuss how the two teams match up in a playoff series, since we both think that might finally happen this year — and with some considerable stakes attached.
