After three long weeks, it seems as though the Los Angeles Lakers are done making big moves in free agency, which means we can finally reflect on the all of the changes to the roster and how they’ll impact the season ahead.
Can You Dig It?
On this week’s episode of “Can You Dig It?” we answer questions from our listeners about a variety of topics for the upcoming season, including who we think will be the biggest surprise for Lakers fans.
The Lakers picked up a few big name players this summer like DeMarcus Cousins, Danny Green and, of course, Anthony Davis, but they also signed a few role players for the veteran’s minimum that could play bigger roles than most expect like Troy Daniels and Jared Dudley. Dudley ranked in the top-20 among small forwards in Defensive Real Plus-Minus last season, while Daniels shot 38. 1 percent from behind the arc, including 47.9 percent on his wide-open 3-point attempts.
If they manage to exceed expectations sooner rather than later, so will the Lakers.

Locked on Lakers
Anthony welcomed Harrison onto “Locked on Lakers” to preview Alex Caruso’s upcoming season. Who better to do such a thing than the founder and CEO of Big Balder Brand, LLC?
The two start by discussing Caruso’s performance last year, and how disappointing Luke Walton was in trusting Caruso despite his being the best point guard on the roster outside of Lonzo Ball. Hyperbole aside, it really is one of the more egregious mistakes of Walton’s tenure as head coach.
From there, the guys discussed how Frank Vogel will have to learn from those mistakes and do what’s best for the team, even if it means rubbing some in the locker room the wrong way.
Finally, Anthony starts the third segment with a hot take that made Harrison about as excited as you’ll ever hear him.
