Is LeBron James getting some early work in with his future teammate?

After lucking into the No. 4 pick at last month’s NBA Draft Lottery, the Los Angeles Lakers will be tasked with picking the fourth-best player in a draft that most people think is only three players deep. Fun stuff, right?

Luckily, scouting has been one of the Lakers’ strengths for a few years now, so fans can feel confident that their team will make the right pick. Thus far, they’ve only worked out one player that’s projected to go in the top-five in Jarrett Culver, but they’ve also been linked to Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland.

Last month, Garland left the NBA Draft Combine early and there were rumors that it was because he received a promise from the Lakers or Phoenix Suns. While a promise from the Lakers seems unlikely given their rumored interest in trading the No. 4 pick for Anthony Davis, it’s not impossible and a recent video posted by Garland made a few fans reconsider their stance on the possibility.

Now, there are two reactions one can have to the above video of Garland working out with LeBron James:

  1. Garland and James are represented by the same agency — Klutch Sports — and therefore it is perfectly normal for them to be working out together. Nothing to see here.
  2. Literally no other rookie represented by Klutch Sports has posted a video working out with James and Garland has been seen courtside at LeBron “Bronny” James Jr.’s games this year. The Lakers are definitely going to draft Darius Garland. The Jarrett Culver workout was just smokescreen. Order your custom jerseys now to get them by the time the draft rolls around.

Two very different reactions; both totally acceptable. Now, just choose which one you want and run with it.
