Another day, another series of leaks about Los Angeles Lakers dysfunction. Today’s shows try to take you through all the latest from that eye-opening article ESPN dropped yesterday and then Magic Johnson’s latest TV appearance.
Silver Screen & Roll Podcast
Over the last few weeks, all of the news surrounding the Lakers has been doom and gloom. Yes, the less-than-favorable coverage they’ve been getting might be warranted, but with over a month until the start of free agency, the 24-hour news cycle could get tiresome fairly quickly.
It’s for that reason Sasha Ashall and Christian Rivas tried to find silver linings for the team going forward. Do you have to be an extreme optimist to see them? Yes, but they’re there if you look hard enough.
Of course, they also talked about the atomic bomb that was the Baxter Holmes-ESPN takedown of the Lakers.

Locked on Lakers
It’s reached a point where the supposed leader of the organization has to plug the leaks in any way they can. As that hasn’t happened, it’s fair to wonder whether any such a leader exists in the organization.
Rob Pelinka is seen as the top decision-maker who can actually be fired (no, Jeanie Buss likely isn’t going anywhere anytime soon), and has to this point done a pretty piss-poor job of handling the narrative coming out of the Lakers. He can’t control what Magic Johnson says about him, but the number of people willing to leak dirt on him speaks to the distrust they feel with Pelinka — a sentiment that probably isn’t helped by stories that paint him as being a pathological liar.
Harrison and I talk about that and plenty more on today’s episode. You can listen to the entire episode below, and make sure to subscribe on iTunes, where you can also leave questions in the form of a five-star review to guarantee your topic makes the show.
