Poll: Who should be the new Lakers President of Basketball Operations

Well, well, well.

How this ship show continues.

First I want to apologize to Harrison and all the others whose feelings I hurt with my last posts that were deleted about pod casts, I guess there are some subjects that we can't discuss on this forum.

Well then, as we all know Magic stepped down, now we hear Rob was talking trash about him to other agents. He was gonna fire Luke and Rob and saw sadness in Jeane's eyes about losing Luke, so this helped his decision to quit. He also wasn't having fun. Cool. Thanks for Lonzo, and Kuz, and Hart, and Mo, and mostly Lebron! We love you, I'd rather travel the world with my family then be in a high stress job in my 60's as well.

So now what.

First off I hope Jerry West's phone has rung this morning. He is the obvious first pick. He has all the tools to take over, if only for a few years, get us back, then ride off into the sunset. Pass the torch to the young guys (Jesse and Ryan) and put a cherry on top of maybe the greatest basketball career in history. His contract is up in the summer with the Clips. This is our first call.

If he is not interested,'m team Jesse Buss. This has always been a family run organization, Magic was like family and a stepping stone for Jeane to get this thing back after Jim ran it to the ground, so Jesse is a well respected, hard working part of this organization, not a figure head, like Magic, or Rob (Kobe's guy) lets put the business back intot he hands of the family.

David Griffin, he has proved himself to be a good executive, both with the Suns and Cavs. Won a ring, worked with Lebron, he may be the best win now choice, behind Jerry West of course, but is he the right call for this job or GM? The Rob question is for another post, but I se Griffin more as a GM, even though I like Ryan West for that job as well.

Kurt Rambis, here is another name I've seen throw around a bit and I'm a hard no. With all the Laker greats out there and out history of hiring people from the family, some consider Rambis a good choice. Let me just say, he was a bad coach and has done nothing to prove himself to be capable for this role. NO!

Kareem? Well Kareem, another Laker great, but one of the more intellectual NBA players of all time. A social justice warrior. A pioneer in medical MJ. Could he fit? I'm gonna say maybe. He has the brains the demeanor but I just don't see it. The migraines and MJ just don't fit with this job, unless we want another figure head, which I don't.

Pat Riley? Could Pat come back? Would he give up South Beach for this job? If so we need to give it consideration. Pat is obviously a world class basketball mind and proven executive. If he wants back in, we need to jump on it, that being said I doubt he leaves Miami.

Phil Jackson? Could he be in line for his job? Maybe? He did not proven himself in NY, would Jeane give her ex a chance at this job? Could NY have been Dolans fault? After his Lebron and his posse comment could Lebron respect this. I don't think so.

Danny Ferry? No! I don't even know why anyone is floating this idea anyways. He was not a good GM, let alone the guy to be the face of this organization. Some people seem to just want random white guys?

Kobe? He has said he will not do it, maybe later? But not now. That being said, I'd take him in a heart beat.

Rob Pelinka? I doubt he survives this with any Laker job. Rob will be an agent again soon.

Richard Derry? Who? Great basketball mind from the SFV? Can bring his own crew? NO!
