Podcast: The Lakers really might hire Jason Kidd to be their head coach. Welp.

Luke Walton is finally in the home stretch of what has to have been a hugely frustrating season. As his Lakers tenure comes to a close, one name — Jason Kidd — keeps coming up as a possible replacement, and it doesn’t lend much confidence to the future.

Despite having nothing to really play for at this stage of the season, and half the rotation being either actually shut down or ready to be shut down, the Los Angeles Lakers still had a hugely busy weekend. Today’s shows break down a potential coaching hire, Lonzo Ball and Big Baller Brand and plenty more.

I Love Basketball

On this episode of “I Love Basketball”, Sasha and Sabreena briefly touch on the Jason Kidd rumors, but mainly get into the big news in Laker land: Lonzo Ball and the drama surrounding Big Baller Brand. They go deep into ESPN’s exposé on the trouble BBB finds itself in, and how Lonzo can hopefully move past this difficult situation.

They then go into speculation season about 2019 free agency, both for coaches and superstars linked to Los Angeles this summer, before exploring the relationship LeBron James has with young stars around the league, including former Laker D’Angelo Russell.

Finally, they discuss Kyle Kuzma’s recent comments about basketball media, and whether his perception of the people covering him has anything to do with how he’s been playing in recent weeks.

Locked on Lakers

It’s Monday, which means it’s time to open up the mailbag to try to answer all your questions. I obviously touch on the news from over the weekend, but also had some fun with some questions that aren’t necessarily about these current Lakers.

As an example, a listener asked what a player would look like if I took the best characteristics from any Lakers and compiled them into one player. How would this Lakers player fare if pitted against others in the league? This was really, really fun.

You can listen to the entire discussion below, and make sure to subscribe on iTunes, where you can also leave questions in the form of a five-star review to guarantee your topic makes the show.
