With March Madness fully underway and only 11 games left of this godforsaken Los Angeles Lakers season, the focus is pretty squarely on the future. Today’s shows discuss prospects, development, the front office and plenty more.
Locked on Lakers
On today’s show, Pete and I discuss what we would like the Lakers to do with their potential top-10 pick and what we think they’ll actually do. Those are two very different things. The Lakers will have options, but a ton of pressure as they make each and every decision this summer.
We then talk a little about what kinds of players the Lakers should target. We know they need shooting, but what would that look like in practice? Given the type of roster the Lakers hope to field next year, simply taking the best player available might not make the most sense. We make the case either way.
Finally, we list a few teams and players Lakers fans should pay a little extra attention to over the course of the next month or so. There’s also a weird section about cats that we would prefer you guys pretend never happened. Thanks in advance.

The 30
In this episode of the “The 30,” Jas is joined by Jorge Sedano of ESPN. The guys break down the video that surfaced on Twitter (via @pickuphoop) comparing Jerry West’s comments on Stephen A. Smith’s show with soundbites from Magic Johnson over the last year and how both men have such different outlooks for building a winning team.
Following that, they discuss Jeanie Buss’ leadership style since taking over the franchise and touch on Luke Walton’s future as Lakers head coach.
