The Los Angeles Lakers have just two weeks before their schedule gets a little easier. In today’s podcasts, our hosts preview arguably their biggest matchup of the season on Friday, and look ahead to Christmas Day against the Clippers.
Can You Dig It?
Starting with their matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to close the month of December by playing their toughest five-game stretch of the season so far.
Following Friday’s game, the Lakers will see the Denver Nuggets, LA Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks. Those games could either make them the clear favorites to nab the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, or it could make the race for the top genuinely interesting.
In today’s episode of “Can You Dig It?” Jacob and I talk about the advantages and disadvantages the Lakers will have in each of those games, and which players will have to step up. We also discuss the potential changes that will need to be made if they don’t come out of this five-game stretch successfully.

Locked on Lakers
Today’s episode starts with a discussion about Kevin Garnett’s claim that he and the Boston Celtics somehow “broke” LeBron James and forced him to leave Cleveland to take his talents to South Beach. It’s an unbelievable stretch of the way history actually went that ignores the fairly important fact that it was actually James who ended the Big Three, not the other way around, as Garnett seems to think.
In segment two, Anthony previews one of the games of the year, between the Milwaukee Bucks and Lakers. Is this a teaser for what fans might see in the finals come June? How do the teams stack up right now, and how might tonight’s game go? Anthony tries to figure all that out, as well as highlighting the biggest matchup to watch tonight.
To wrap up the show, Anthony opened up the mailbag to catch all the way up on all the questions he has received in the iTunes mailbag, including why it’s unlikely Kyle Kuzma gets traded at all this season.
