LeBron James will be in uniform when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Atlanta Hawks at the State Farm Arena on Sunday, according to head coach Frank Vogel. James was previously listed as questionable with an elbow injury he suffered against the Miami Heat on Friday.
The Lakers were going to be the favorites in Sunday’s game with or without James, but now that James has been cleared, their 13-game winning streak away from home will almost certainly be safe for another night.
The last time these two teams faced, the Lakers won 122-101 and LeBron James put up 33 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds with Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, sitting courtside. The faces on the sidelines won’t be as friendly this time around, but that hasn’t seemed to be a problem for James or the Lakers this season.
As reported on Saturday, the Lakers won’t have their second-leading scorer from their first matchup with the Hawks, Kyle Kuzma, available, but with how productive Jared Dudley has been in Kuzma’s absence, that hole in their rotation isn’t expected to be glaring. Dudley has gone 4-7 on his 3-point attempts in the last two games and been a +4.5 in the box score. On the season, Dudley’s shooting 60% from 3-point territory.
Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley Will also be available, per Vogel. The latter of the two will help the Lakers keep Trae Young from having a big night, but he won’t be matched up against him to start the game as he’ll come off the bench for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope once again.
The Lakers and Hawks will tip-off at 3 p.m. PST on Spectrum SportsNet.
