NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Los Angeles Lakers Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Kobe Bryant watched on as the Los Angeles Lakers cruised to an easy 21-point victory over the Atlanta Hawks behind the show LeBron James put on for everyone. It was quite a win, and now the Lakers boast the NBA’s best record. Our hosts have some fun with not just the win, but the season the team has enjoyed thus far.

The 30

In this episode, Jas is joined by Raj Chipalu of Laker Film Room. To kick things off, the guys breakdown the Lakers blowout win over the Atlanta Hawks to improve to 11-2. With LeBron dominating the season so far, Raj and Jas share their thoughts on why the King has been so good through the first month of the season.

Following that, they get into where the Lakers can make improvements to the roster and how a lack of wing depth can be a weakness against the upper-echelon teams.

The guys also talk about the job Frank Vogel has done as the head coach of the team and why his defensive scheme is perfect for this roster.

To wrap things up, Raj and Jas get into the Lakers schedule and predict what the Lakers record will be at the 20-game mark.

Locked on Lakers

To start the episode, I glean whatever I could from such a lopsided victory. It turns out, that LeBron guy is pretty good and now Danny Green can apparently dunk, so that’s where I start from. I would’ve had a pretty special guest, but the mailbag was just too full and the listeners always come first.

My dive into the mailbag resulted in a few interesting topics, like the Lakers’ (and specifically Kuzma’s) shooting starting to come around, the team’s best lineups, why pineapple belongs on pizza, and more.
