Los Angeles Lakers training camp is underway and we officially have new basketball stories to
freak out about react to. Some of the storylines were pretty easy to predict (Rajon Rondo impressing people) but it doesn’t make them any less frustrating as they happen. We reacted to everything that has come out of camp thus far.
The Lake Show
Harrison and I wandered around in the top stories we’ve noticed from camp, starting with stuff this little tidbit from Mike Trudell of NBA.com:
“At Saturday’s Day 1 of practice, it was Rajon Rondo playing with the 1st team. On Sunday, it was Avery Bradley. Meanwhile, Alex Caruso has been a steady presence with the 2nd team, and will definitely be getting minutes and the opportunity for more as the season goes on. But it would appear that Rondo and Bradley have the first chance to work with the 1’s.”
Welp. There you have it. Things like that — and especially how much the players and coaches are praising him — point towards the possibility that Rondo is going to start, forcing Caruso down the depth chart. We react to that, the rave reviews on Avery Bradley, James’ efforts to help get SB 206 passed and more.
Oh, and quite possibly the greatest moment in the history of Harrison and I podcasting together happened. So there’s that:
This might be the best thing Harrison and I have ever produced. https://t.co/T8FqQeA2Pv pic.twitter.com/BxpZ1VGDfZ— Anthony F. Irwin (@AnthonyIrwinLA) October 1, 2019

Locked on Lakers
On today’s show, thanks to an incredible number of questions this week (we’re all pumped to have basketball back), I had to dive back into the mailbag to try to catch up on all the questions you’ve asked.
One question that sticks out was a listener asking whether the Lakers can make any trades to improve the roster and, as much as I’d love to hop on the trade machine to find a deal, there just aren’t many to be made thanks to how much the Lakers gave up to land Davis.
