With the bulk of free agency in the rearview mirror, who makes up the Los Angeles Lakers training camp roster is one of the last questions left to answer heading into the 2017-18 NBA season.
The Lakers can bring 20 players to their training camp, and we already know the bulk of who will be on the actual roster from those 20. LeBron James is unlikely to be cut, for example.
So we will keep updating this, but as of right now, the training camp roster for the Lakers includes (with roster spot status in parentheses):
- LeBron James (Fully guaranteed)
- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Fully guaranteed)
- Rajon Rondo (Fully guaranteed)
- Lonzo Ball (Fully guaranteed)
- Brandon Ingram (Fully guaranteed)
- Lance Stephenson (Fully guaranteed)
- Moe Wagner (Fully guaranteed)
- Kyle Kuzma (Fully guaranteed)
- Josh Hart (Fully guaranteed)
- Ivica Zubac (Fully guaranteed, but would seem most likely of the guaranteed guys to be cut, if the Lakers were to go that route)
- JaVale McGee (Fully guaranteed)
- Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (Fully guaranteed)
- Isaac Bonga (Fully guaranteed)
- Alex Caruso (Two-way contract, unlikely but possible to be cut)
- Michael Beasley (likely fully guaranteed)
- Jeffrey Carroll (Likely an Exhibit 10 contract, meaning he can be converted into a two-way player or waived, but with a bonus for going to the South Bay Lakers and staying at least 60 days)
- Joel Berry II (unknown what type of contract he’s on right now, but likely an Exhibit 10 or summer contract that would only guarantee on the first day of the season)
- Johnathan Williams (unknown what type of contract he’s on right now, but likely an Exhibit 10 or summer contract that would only guarantee on the first day of the season)
- Travis Wear (Two-way contract, unlikely but possible to be cut)
- Open Spot created by parting ways with Luol Deng
Stay tuned to see who else they bring in.
