Kobe Bryant on LeBron James signing with the Lakers: ‘I LOVE IT’

At long last, the Los Angeles Lakers landed LeBron James and everyone from the fans to his new teammates could not be more thrilled. Even Kobe Bryant, who was once rivals with James in his prime, is ecstatic about James being the next superstar in Los Angeles.

According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Bryant will have more to say at a later date, but she received a text message showing Bryant’s excitement for James’ arrival.

There was a time where James and Bryant were two of the most dominant players in the NBA. While the two never met in the playoffs, they had their fair share of classic regular season battles.

In their 22 regular season meetings, James beat Bryant and the Lakers 16 times, with the Lakers only coming out on top only six times, according to basketball-reference.com. James also averaged more points per game in their regular season matchups with 28.2 points per game, but averaged four more minutes per game than Bryant.

However, Bryant has something James doesn’t have and that’s five championship rings. Some of Byrant’s more devoted fans will happily tell you that.

But with James now set to suit up in the purple and gold for at least the next four years, the fans of Bryant and James will have to learn to live in harmony. It’s a big ask, I know, but I promise it’s painless.

Besides, the two passionate fanbases will have plenty to talk about when James retires and people start arguing about whether or not James is the greatest player to ever wear a Lakers uniform. In the meantime, let’s try and enjoy this.
