Despite worries that the Los Angeles Lakers telling young players like Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart to slow down their Twitter trolling of each other would make the team less fun, it seems they aren’t going to stop for anything. No, not even NBA free agency.
Hart — who has had as much fun teasing fans with cryptic free agency tweets as any NBA player ever — started things off innocuously enough, simply giving Lakers fans another week about how “crazy” free agency was going to be:
Things will get crazy in 6 hours.... #FreeAgency
— Josh Hart (@joshhart) June 30, 2018
Despite Kuzma telling the NBA what they could tamper with a few months ago, this time he was the one trying to look out for Hart and the Lakers as they seem to be on the verge of signing LeBron James:
For the last time....... STOP lol https://t.co/fF8AF8Rapn
— kuz (@kylekuzma) June 30, 2018
Shockingly, Hart didn’t want to listen:
Damn I can’t even live my life huh? This ain’t even a troll https://t.co/HsigmOqZ2o
— Josh Hart (@joshhart) June 30, 2018
That may not have been a troll, but his follow-up was:
And your ugly. I’m going to get your account deleted fat boy https://t.co/HsigmOqZ2o
— Josh Hart (@joshhart) June 30, 2018
Who am I to judge the fitness status of NBA players, but Kuzma certainly appears to be in pretty good shape, even getting a shoutout from The Rock for the muscle he was building a few weeks back:
Kuz told me he wanted his best summer ever. Boy’s puttin’ in the work https://t.co/j4z2i1i6mX
— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) June 18, 2018
So this looks to be just another case of the young Lakers roasting each other. The team reportedly had wanted to stop them before things went too far, but this time seems to be innocuous.
As long as Hart and Kuzma hold off on roasting LeBron James about his hairline until after he officially signs his Lakers contract, I don’t really see any way this isn’t all in good fun.
