I'm not going to pretend like I don't want Kawhi Leonard, I do. The fact that we have to give up Ingram and/or Kuzma is the part that kills me. It's going to cost more than that however and that's what I'm dreading. I feel a 3 team trade is going to have to take place in order for a deal to work. So here it goes, I'm going to list a few proposals and tell me which ones you guys like and would consider and which ones you find more likely. Feel free to add any proposals in the comments
Option #1
Lakers get: Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green
Spurs get: Kent Bazemore, Dennis Schroder, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma
Hawks get: Luol Deng, Pau Gasol, Dejounte Murray, Ivica Zubac, Thomas Bryant and 2 1 round picks
Why Lakers do this trade: Kawhi Leonard is coming to LA and that likely means LeBron as well and maybe even Paul George. You immediately put yourself in contention to dethrone the Warriors from year one. Adding Kawhi and Danny Green gives the Lakers a top 5 player when healthy as well as a solid player in Danny Green to help with 3s.
Lineup if PG & Bron come:
Lonzo/George/Kawhi/LeBron/Lopez(said he'd sign a discounted deal)
Why Spurs do this trade: they're not adding any 1st round picks in this deal but instead adding Brandon Ingram who has the potential to be an All-NBA player, Kuzma who has proven himself to be a talented player who can score, Schroder will take over at PG and should improve with a much more talented coach in Pop as well as having more help surrounding him, they also bring in Kent Bazemore who is a productive player and get rid of Gasols contract. They pretty much bring in a whole new entire starting 5
Lineup after trade:
Schroder/Bazemore/Ingram/Kuzma/Aldridge
Why the Hawks do this trade: they get rid of a disgruntled Schroder and bring in Murray who should be easier to deal with and can potentially bring what Dennis brought. They trade Bazemore to bring in more tank friendly contracts as well as add 2 1sts to help them with their rebuild. They bring in Zubac who has shown flashes of being a poor mans Marc Gasol. Bryant can help space the floor and can be a perfect running man for Collins and in 2 years, both Gasol and Deng will be off the books when they draft the talent(hopefully) to push them into the playoffs, they should be able to add a couple good FAs to help get them to the top.
Option #2
Lakers get: Kawhi Leonard, Terrence Ross
Spurs get: Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, DJ Augustin, Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier
Magic get: Luol Deng, Pau Gasol, Derrick White, 2 1st round picks
Why Lakers do it:
Kawhi Leonard comes to LA, Terrence Ross is also a player that can be a 3&D player that can help with a title run
Why Spurs do it:
They bring in a bunch of players that can at least be good depth pieces and some have potential to be good-great starters.
Why Magic do it:
They're in rebuild mode, they get rid of any pieces that might help them win irrelevant games but bring in White who can be the PG they've been longing for to pair with Isaac and Bamba, they bring in 2 1st round picks to help them build
Option #3
Lakers get: Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green
Spurs get: Nicolas Batum, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, 2 1st round picks
Hornets get: Luol Deng, Kyle Kuzma, Bryn Forbes
Why Lakers do it: read option #1
Why Spurs do it: they get Ingram, Hart, Batum and 2 1st while keeping White and Murray
Why Hornets do it: they bring in Luol Deng in exchange for Kyle Kuzma and Forbes. Kuzma replaces Batum and has higher potential and Forbes can be a solid player.
All these are 3 team trades because I feel it will take a 3rd team to get any type of deal done
Tell me what you guys think, are all these crap trades? If you have any ideas that would be realistic, put your comment down.
Sorry about the poll, if you want to vote other just say other and comment the trade you'd like best
