Kyle Kuzma is taking a break from his busy life in Los Angeles to represent the Lakers and the NBA overseas in China as he, along with Harrison Barnes of the Dallas Mavericks and NBA legend David Robinson, help China celebrate the 2018 NBA Finals.
The Lakers have always had a huge fanbase in China, so much so that even a year after his final game with the Lake Show, Kobe Bryant was still the most popular player in China, according to Shanghai-based consultancy Mailman. Bryant’s Lakers jersey has also been the highest-selling NBA jersey in China for over a decade.
Coming off of a rookie campaign that earned him a spot on the 2018 NBA All-Rookie First Team, Kuzma is hoping to follow in the Mamba’s and become a global icon with the Lakers. However, like Bryant, Kuzma can’t seem to put the ball down regardless of where he is.
The 22-year-old forward’s trainer, Clint Parks of CPSA Training, posted this video of Kuzma getting shots up in any empty gym in China.

Kuzma has been living in the gym since the summer started. According to Kuzma, he’s been in the gym twice a day since at least the beginning of May.
His work ethic, along with his knack for putting the ball in the basket, has made him a fan favorite among Lakers fans all over the country and it’s only a matter of time before he’s the next big thing in China, just another way he’s trying to follow in Bryant’s footsteps.
