LiAngelo Ball says Lonzo Ball has been a valuable resource since his pre-draft process started.

LiAngelo Ball worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday and the early reports that have leaked out haven’t been kind to Lonzo Ball’s younger brother. According to multiple reports, the Lakers have no intention of pursuing LiAngelo beyond his initial pre-draft workout.

Leading up to his official workout with the Lakers, LiAngelo got a chance to get shots up at the Lakers’ practice facility before anyone else thanks to Lonzo. Even though the workout didn’t go as planned, LiAngelo said that having an older brother in the NBA has been beneficial to him during the pre-draft process. Via the Lakers’ Twitter account:

“It was good having an older brother in the league, obviously, LiAngelo said. “He’ll tell you certain stuff about the NBA that you might now hear if you don’t have a brother in the league. So it helps a lot.”

Lonzo was present for the entirety of LiAngelo’s workout, according to Thomas Welsh of UCLA, who also worked out for the Lakers on Tuesday and played with both Ball brothers at UCLA. However, LiAngelo said it didn’t matter whether or not he showed up because he had plenty to worry about with the workout.

“It was good that he was here, but if he wasn’t I would’ve done the same thing,” Ball said. “I don’t really pay too much attention to who’s here and who’s not.”

Ball has at least one more workout scheduled before the 2018 NBA draft on June 21. I think it goes without saying he’s hoping he fares better there than the first one.
