LiAngelo Ball got his first taste of the NBA on Tuesday at his pre-draft workout with the Los Angeles Lakers. Among those in attendance to watch Ball’s work out was Lonzo Ball, the older brother of LiAngelo and the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA draft.

Unlike his brother, who had a solo workout due to his high draft stock, LiAngelo’s workout was alongside five other NBA draft hopefuls, including Jaylen Adams of St. Bonaventure, Devon Hall of Virginia, Tyus Battle of Syracuse, Dusan Ristic of Arizona and Thomas Welsh, who played with Lonzo and (briefly) LiAngelo at UCLA.

However, because of his last name and the controversy that has followed him up to this point in his career, the cameras were all on LiAngelo.

As usual, media availability was limited to the final few minutes of the Lakers’ workout, but those in attendance got footage of LiAngelo going through the “Lakers mentality” drill, which tests a player’s shooting and endurance. Here’s what they saw:

The first thing that stands out in the above videos is how how tired LiAngelo looks. Granted, it is at the tail end of his first-ever NBA workout, but we’ve seen several players go through this workout looking less fatigued.

That could be because most of the other players the Lakers have worked out have already had one or two NBA workouts under their belt, whether it be a private work out or the NBA Draft Combine, or it could just be because LiAngelo has always been the least athletic of the three Ball brothers.

Ball will have the chance to show it was just his Baltic Sea legs on June 10, when he’s scheduled to have his second pre-draft workout with the Golden State Warriors. It’s not impossible for LiAngelo to get drafted, but from the looks of it, he has his work cut out for him.
