The Los Angeles Lakers are continuing to build a larger and larger list of 2018 NBA Draft prospects they’re working out, and the latest name to add to the list of players is Temple big man Obi Enechionyia.

According to Marc Narducci of Philly.com (h/t Lakers Nation), Enechionyia will work out for the Lakers on Tuesday. It is currently unknown whether Enechionyia’s workout will be a group session or a solo one, but considering that Enechionyia is not among ESPN’s top-100 draft prospects, it would seem like a safe bet that a group workout is more likely.

Enechionyia previously entered the draft last year but withdrew without signing with an agent, and the 6-10 forward returned to Temple to average 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds during his senior season.

Those types of numbers coupled with his relatively low stock would make it seem unlikely Enechionyia will be drafted, but he told Narducci he wants to try his best to make it in the NBA before considering playing overseas:

While there could be overseas options, Enechionyia right now wants to give his immediate effort toward the NBA.

“I am focused on that,” Enechionyia said during a phone interview on Saturday. “We will see what happens and I’ll work on getting on a summer league team and see what I can do.”

Enechionyia will have his first pre-draft workout on Tuesday when he visits the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers are obviously unlikely to use either their 25th or 47th picks on Enechionyia, but the big man could still be a consideration for either their Sacramento or Las Vegas Summer League teams, or potentially even the South Bay Lakers.

In the likely event that Enechionyia is part of a group workout, he’ll at the very least provide capable competition for other players the Lakers are taking a closer look at as they continue to try and gather as much information possible before making their draft picks.
