It’s been a while since LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have been in the news after James’ Cleveland Cavaliers wrapped up their season series against the Lakers in early March.
While the news is sure to pick up with the offseason less than three months away, there was little buzz around the two parties ... until today.
James took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to show some love to Kyle Kuzma’s pregame fit, which consisted of a Champion brand Nick Van Exel throwback Lakers jersey. You know, like any NBA player would.

Van Exel was a fan favorite in Los Angeles during his five years with the Lakers. Ironically, Van Exel was traded to the Nuggets in 1988 for Tony Battie (who was traded to the Boston Celtics shortly after) and James’ current head coach Tyronn Lue.
Luckily, James will only have to wait a few months until he gets to have a Lakers jersey of his own that will likely be worn at musical festivals across the globe in about 20-30 years or, in this case, worn by an up and coming rookie.
