It’s never too early to start recruiting free agents, right?
After a Philadelphia-based company funded three billboards recruiting LeBron James the 76ers with tagline #CompleteTheProcess, four more billboards popped up in hopes of grabbing the King’s attention, this time in sunny Los Angeles, CA on behalf of the Lakers.
4 LeBron billboards are going up around LA today. These. A 3rd depicts Lakers retired jerseys with LeBron’s as the next one. A 4th says “Forget The Process, we win banners.” Bought by attorney, and Laker fan, Jacob Emrani. Cavs play Clippers & Lakers this week. pic.twitter.com/XaWLGN49pE

Per Los Angeles Times’ Tania Ganguli, the four billboards, each reading #LABron, were paid for by attorney and self-proclaimed “Super Fan,” Jacob Emrani, who owns The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani.
Emrani told ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk he’s just doing his part as a Lakers fan.
“I am going to tell you, for the past week I think I have stopped practicing law, and this is all I am doing,” Emrani joked. “I am a Lakers fanatic. I have been a season-ticket holder for 20 years, and I follow them every day. ... I got respect for [James], and I feel like as a private citizen, I am going to put my dollars behind my passion and recruit him. This is the best place for him, and I think he can cement his legacy if he takes his third team and win a championship, and where better than L.A.?”
James will get to take a look at the billboards up close on Sunday as the Cavaliers take on the rolling Lakers. When James was in town earlier this year, he visited Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks for a workout while his wife, Savannah, toured the campus, per TMZ Sports. You know, like all NBA players do.
It’s no secret the Lakers are going to go after James hard this summer with their upwards of $69 million in cap space in hopes of pairing him with a co-star, whether it be Paul George, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George or Paul George.
James will finish out the season in Cleveland before hitting the open market on July 1. Expect the Lakers to move heaven and Earth to get in the same room with him this summer.
