Lonzo Ball listed as ‘doubtful’ Sunday vs. Sacramento Kings

Lonzo Ball will not play against the Kings because of course he’s not.

Lonzo Ball will most likely miss another game against De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings as Ball is listed as “doubtful” for Sunday on the injury report, according to Los Angeles Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell.

The Lakers will also be without Brandon Ingram, who is in the NBA’s concussion protocol until further notice.

Ball sat out Saturday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks after being diagnosed with a left knee contusion, but apparently one game’s rest wasn’t enough for the 20-year-old point guard, who had issues with the same knee earlier this season. Ball insisted that the injury was “just a bruise” and is hopeful to make a return sooner rather than later.

The Lakers will already not have Isaiah Thomas for the rest of the season. Having Ball miss any games is a huge blow to a team that was looking to finish the season on a high note. With Ball sidelined, expect Alex Caruso, who was called up on Friday, and Tyler Ennis to see a bulk of the minutes at point guard.

Josh Hart could also see some time at the point, but considering he’s one of the few players capable of playing the small forward position, he will more than likely start at the 3 on Sunday.

Ball has already missed 23 games for the Lakers this season. Hopefully, this doesn’t become a trend going forward.
