The Los Angeles Lakers continue to look rejuvenated post All-Star break, adding a lopsided 123-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks to their season. The Lakers have now matched their total wins from last season (26) with plenty of room to spare, and momentum to take back to Los Angeles.
Julius Randle continues to be a monster around the paint, going 8-for-13 from the field for 19 points. He also pulled down 10 rebounds to notch a double-double on the night. Brandon Ingram did a little bit of everything, scoring a team-high 21 points. It was how confident he looked while in his groove, while pulling down 10 boards, dishing six assists and swatting three shots. It was an impressive 28 minutes from Ingram.
Nine Lakers reached double-digits in scoring, an all-around dominant effort from the purple and gold. The team was focused and never faltered as they took control of the game and bit down through the second half.
Lonzo Ball finished a perfect four-for-four from the field, splashing all three of his attempts from outside for 13 points. He also had five assists and seven rebounds. Seeing Ball confidently step into three-pointers has been a revelation in his two games back, and hopefully continues to be a trend with just over 20 games left in the season.
It was a one-sided effort, with the Lakers taking care of business on the road. Watching them actively win a game was a great lasting taste to leave until they’re back in action in Miami on Thursday.
