The lineup the Los Angeles Lakers have started makes more sense than it has all season. This has coincided with Brandon Ingram’s absence with an ankle sprain, but is there a correlation? We covered that, plus a ton of other topics of conversation across today’s podcast content.
Locked on Lakers
Today on the show, Pete and I discuss LeBron James and Dwyane Wade’s friendship, and how cool the scene was in their last game against each other. As that pertained to the Lakers, we both think their touching tribute to one of the game’s greats was further proof that the organization gets it, and that message might reverberate around the league.
We then turned our attention to the actual team, and how it’s looked since Ingram’s injury forced Josh Hart into the starting lineup. While the Lakers are obviously a better team with Ingram and an injury to athletes is always bad news, it’s fair to speculate whether his absence has made a case for a move to the bench. As this topic has always been, it’s ... complicated.
We also discussed Kyle Kuzma’s recent play and Lonzo Ball’s finishing concerns. Listen to the full conversation below and make sure to subscribe on iTunes.
Show Tiempo
What is Kevin Durant trying to accomplish by calling the atmosphere surrounding LeBron toxic? Jordan and Alex discuss on the latest episode of Show Tiempo.
Durant’s comments were strange and left a lot of people confused about his intentions. Durant has obviously considered what it would be like playing on the same team as LeBron. So will he do it? That’s the question people are trying to answer. Is Durant now more or less likely to join the Lakers next summer? Time will tell.
On the court since episode No. 1 of “Show Tiempo,” the Lakers blew a double-digit lead in San Antonio. How frustrating was the loss and why did it happen? LeBron and company needed a strong response the following day in Memphis and delivered. What can we learn from the win against the Grizzlies? Find out.
After the win in Memphis, the Lakers returned home to play against Dwyane Wade one last time. It turned out to be an emotional game for both Wade and LeBron. The two made an otherwise meaningless game a lot more interesting, but did the Lakers celebrate Wade a little too much? Jordan and Alex were left scratching their heads at times during the celebration. The guys have a little fun with the topic.
Alex serves up a couple shots to discuss with Jordan to wrap up episode No. 2. Would you rather have Durant or Kawhi on the Lakers next season? Let us know!
